New Delhi. Train travel in India has always been full of food and drink experiences. People leave home with fried food or buy hot food from stations on the way. As soon as the video surfaced on social media, a huge debate broke out regarding the safety and rules of passengers. Many people were surprised as to how someone could do such a risky thing in an AC coach.
Central Railway’s clarification on breaking safety rules
Central Railways has started action considering the woman’s actions as a serious threat. The department issued a statement on This could cause fire and endanger the lives of passengers. Railways has appealed to the passengers to report such cases to the authorities immediately so that any accident can be prevented. Railway officials say that the power supply of AC coaches is not designed for such devices, which increases the risk of overload or short circuit.
Mixed reactions on social media
After the video surfaced, the internet was divided into two parts. Some people termed it as gross negligence and demanded strict punishment for the woman. One user wrote that ‘This is a big security threat, people put the life of the entire train at risk due to their arbitrariness.’ Some people asked that when a laptop can be charged then why not a kettle? On this, many passengers shared past experiences, which included instances of safety hazards in the coach due to fire, smoke or religious activities.
Why did the displeasure of passengers increase?
Many people raised questions as to why such things are allowed to be brought in the train. Some said that after buying tickets, passengers understand that the coach is their personal property and they can do anything. One user even suggested that the Railways should provide outlets that can withstand more power, so that small heating appliances can be used safely. However, experts say that providing such facilities may further increase the risk of accidents. This issue of ‘Maggi cooking’ in the train is more of a serious safety issue than a joke. Whether Railways takes strict action or increases awareness – passengers have the biggest responsibility. After all, a little carelessness can put the life of the entire compartment at risk.
