To make good Oats Halwa during cold days, some ingredients are required which can be bought from the market and can be made very sweet and tasty at home. Like 01 cup oats, 1–2 tbsp ghee, 2 cups milk or water, 3–4 tsp jaggery, 1 pinch cardamom powder, dry fruits, almonds, cashews, raisins etc.
First of all, put oats in a heavy bottom pan and dry fry for 3-4 minutes on medium flame. When the oats become light golden and aromatic, turn off the gas and let it cool.
When the oats cool down, put them in the grinder and grind them coarsely. After that take a pan, add water in it, add jaggery and also add cardamom. After this, boil the water for 4 to 5 minutes. Once it boils completely, keep it aside.
Then take a pan, add ghee in it and heat the ghee. When the ghee becomes hot, add ground coarse oats into it and then continue frying. Fry the oats until their color becomes golden. After the oats become golden in color, slowly add water with jaggery to it and keep frying.
After adding the jaggery water, add boiled milk and cook until the jaggery water is gone. When the oats become completely dark after the water dries completely, add dry fruits like cashew nuts, almonds, figs, dates etc. and mix and then serve hot in a plate.
