Scientific power of grandmother’s recipe
Dry ginger laddus are not only a part of tradition but also a proof of scientific understanding of Ayurveda and desi food. The effect of dry ginger keeps the body warm from within, while jaggery is an excellent source of natural energy. Desi ghee strengthens digestion and dry fruits increase strength and stamina in the body. Therefore, consumption of these laddus in the cold season is considered very helpful in protecting the body from infections.
How dry ginger laddus are made in the kitchen of local people
Talking to Local 18, local resident Meena Dwivedi said that this recipe is as beneficial as it is easy. First, 250 grams of jaggery, 100 grams each of cashew nuts and almonds, three spoons of dry ginger powder, two spoons of celery and dry fruits like coconut are taken. By heating the desi ghee, all the dry fruits are lightly fried, then they are ground with a mortar and pestle and if desired, roasted flour can also be added to the ghee. After this, dry fruits are added to the hot jaggery, mixed well and the mixture is shaped into small laddus.
Trusted energy partner for winter
In Baghelkhand, dry ginger laddu is considered not just a sweet but a seasonal medicine. No matter how cold the weather is, this traditional laddu helps in maintaining energy throughout the day. This is the reason why even today this desi recipe is remembered first in every house as soon as winter starts.
