Pradeep Thakur, state president of the New Pension Scheme Employees Federation, said that a major condition in this is that the employees cannot separate from the NPS on their own free will. He said that an agreement has been signed with the central government. In such a situation, the state government may also have to bring amendment on the pension related law. He said that the state government has assured that a solution will be found soon.

Let us tell that on Tuesday, the government has instructed the Finance Department to notify the standard operating procedure, terms and conditions to implement the decision of OPS. Finance Department will issue SOP of OPS. In the office memorandum issued on this, the government has clarified that the employees included in the new pension scheme will be given the benefit of the old pension scheme.
Now the eyes of all the employees are fixed on the notification that under which formula the old pension will be given. Before the year 2003, pension was given under the Central Civil Service Pension Rule 1972. According to this, 50 percent of the salary drawn on the last day of retirement was given as pension amount.
Addressing the thanksgiving meeting at HPU, employee leader Rajesh Thakur said that the employees fought a long struggle for the restoration of OPS, faced many kinds of harassment, even suffered police lathis and even faced lawsuits. The previous government also made transfers. He said that the Sukhu cabinet, showing willpower, not only provided social security to the employees but also elevated their respect.
