G20 Global Healthcare Response Team: In the G20 Summit held in South Africa, Prime Minister Modi proposed to form a G20 Global Healthcare Response Team to deal with global health emergencies and natural disasters. In this, it was suggested to include trained medical experts from G20 countries, so that this team can be deployed in case of any health crisis and the spread of diseases can be prevented.
PM Modi Proposal at G20 Summit: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also participated in the G20 summit held in Johannesburg, South Africa. During this, the PM made 6 big proposals from India, one of which was the proposal to form a G20 Global Healthcare Response Team. The Prime Minister said that it is our collective responsibility to deal with the crisis of health emergency and natural disasters. Therefore, India proposes that a G20 Global Healthcare Response Team be formed. Trend medical experts from G20 countries should be included in this. These teams should be ready for rapid deployment in case of any global health crisis or natural disaster. This step of PM is being praised all over the world, because many countries are still struggling due to the Covid pandemic that spread in 2019. Let us know from experts how this G20 team can prove beneficial.
Dr. Sunit Kumar Singh, director and virologist of Dr. BR Ambedkar Center for Biomedical Research, New Delhi, told StuffUnknown. PM Modi’s proposal to form a G20 Global Healthcare Response Team can be beneficial for all countries. If all the G20 countries form this team of medical experts, then regular surveillance of health related issues will continue. If all countries share surveillance data with each other, then any epidemic will be prevented from becoming an epidemic. Sharing the sequence formation of any pathogen with each other will create a global disease surveillance network. This will help in containment of the disease and will make it easier to stop the epidemic.
This team is necessary for South Asia
Dr. Sunit Singh said that there are many such factors in South Asia including climate, due to which the risk of vector borne pathogens and many other types of pathogens is higher here. In such a situation, the Global Healthcare Response Team will be able to properly monitor these pathogens and will be able to help prevent any disease. Stopping any epidemic is possible only through one health approach. If contamination of any virus or bacteria can be stopped in time, then the risk of diseases spreading from one country to another can be reduced. Apart from this, it can also be of great help in its treatment and research.
You will get benefit even in natural disaster
According to virologists, when any kind of natural disaster occurs, the risk of many diseases increases. For example, when there is a flood in an area, the risk of various water-borne diseases increases. If preparations are made in time and proper surveillance is done, then the spread of diseases can be prevented. In the event of a natural disaster, many health crises can arise, in dealing with which the G20 Global Healthcare Response Team can prove to be very beneficial.
