Samsung is preparing for its next Galaxy Unpacked event and with this people are eagerly waiting for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. But according to the latest reports, users may have to wait a little longer than expected for the launch of this flagship smartphone. Earlier it was believed that Samsung would launch the Galaxy S26 series in mid-January, as the company has been doing every year.
But this week, a report by South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency claimed that Samsung can now organize its Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco in February. That means the launch date of Galaxy S26 Ultra seems to be getting pushed forward once again.
Which phones will be in the Galaxy S26 series?
According to initial reports, Samsung was planning to bring three models in the Galaxy S26 family, including Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy S26 Edge (slim design) and Galaxy S26 Pro (entry-level but more powerful).
However, due to weak sales of Galaxy S25 Edge, Samsung reconsidered its plans regarding the Edge model. After this the discussion of the return of Galaxy S26+ started.
Why is the launch date changing again and again?
The launch timeline was also affected due to changes in the model lineup. Earlier there was talk of launch in mid-January, then there was discussion of postponing it till mid-February. Now Yonhap’s report is once again pointing towards a February launch.
Even if Galaxy Unpacked takes place in February, Samsung will still benefit because it will be able to launch its new phones before the Mobile World Congress (MWC), which starts on March 2.
Possible features of Galaxy S26 Ultra
Not much information has been revealed yet regarding the specifications, but the most important question is regarding the processor. Recently revealed FCC listing has indicated that Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset will be available in Galaxy S26 Ultra. It is believed that this could be Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which will be used at the global level.
