If you live in Delhi-NCR and are fond of food, then you will definitely be familiar with the taste of Andhra Bhavan canteen. This canteen was closed since the time of lockdown but, according to the latest information, the taste of the place will be revived from February. Probably its operation is going to start again from the first week of February. However, the date has still not been decided.
Although, Andhra Bhavan canteen is now Telangana Bhavan canteen but people still know it more than its old name. This canteen has been running continuously for the last 27 years. Stuffed food is served here for a limited rate. The menu is also the same for the last 27 years but the crowd of people is seen more than every time. People who eat a lot of regular food also reach here.
Whenever you go here take a little time because there is a lot of crowd here in every season. First you have to take the token from the counter and then according to the availability of the seat you get a chance. However, you can take your time and eat comfortably. There is no pressure to eat fast. You have to take papad and paan separately. You can take most of the items in the rest of the plate as you wish.Timing:
Break Fast: 07:30 AM to 10:00 AM
Lunch: 12.01 PM to 02:45 PM
Dinner: 07:30 PM to 10:00 PM
Break Fast: Idli, Masala Dosa and Vada
Lunch / Dinner: Thali (Puri / Roti, Plain Rice, Special Rice, Dal, Vegetable Fry, Vegetable Curry, Sambar, Rasam, Chutney, Sweet, Curd, Two types of pickles, Ghee, Kandi Podi). Apart from this, there are some non-veg items (chicken, mutton and fish), which have to be paid separately.
Sunday Special: Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani is served during lunch on Sunday.
