West Champaran: The repair work of the roads of the five ranges falling under Division 02 of Valmiki Valmiki Tiger Reserve located in Bagaha 02 block of the district has been completed. Now the department’s night patrolling, emergency action and wildlife conservation work can be done very easily. Let us tell you that there are five ranges under VTR Division 02. They include Madanpur, Valmikinagar, Gonauli, Harnatand and Chiutahan forest areas. With the repair of these forest paths, the work will speed up.
Road repair work completed in five ranges
According to the information received from the Forest Department, about 34 kilometers of forest paths have been prepared in Madanpur, 40 kilometers in Valmiki Nagar, 50 kilometers in Gonauli, 74 kilometers in Harnatand and about 32 kilometers in Chiutahan range. Their repair work was started after the monsoon, which has now been completed. Officials say that the purpose behind the repair of these paths is to simplify the access of forest personnel to the designated place in the forest in case of any emergency, as well as to facilitate the process of normal patrolling.
Madanpur Forest Range Officer Naseem Ansari along with officials from other ranges say that the activities of wildlife increase in winter. In such a situation, the responsibility of both monitoring and security on forest personnel increases manifold. Due to forest paths, patrol teams will now be able to easily reach even remote areas of the forest. In such a situation, smuggler groups along with poachers can be easily cracked down on. It is worth noting that forest security arrangements have also been strengthened in Jatashankar, Kotrahan and Bhedihari forest complexes under Valmikinagar forest range.
Patrolling operation begins in the forest
The forest personnel deployed to protect the precious trees and wildlife have been equipped with modern communication equipment, so that immediate action can be taken on information about any illegal activity. The department has tightened the patrolling system in view of the winter season. Patrolling is being done day and night by forming separate teams under the leadership of foresters and forest guards. Besides, forest officials have also appealed to the local people to cooperate in protecting the forests and wildlife.
