Airbus Planes & Solar Radiation Risk: On October 30, 2025, BlueJet’s A320 plane going from Cancún to New York pitched down for a few seconds. About 15 passengers on the plane were injured in this incident. The French Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (BEA) in its investigation held the elevator and aileron computer (ELAC) responsible for the incident. At the same time, Airbus linked ELAC to solar radiation in its analysis. Subsequently, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) issued an Emergency Airworthiness Directive (EAD) directing all airlines not to fly A320 family planes without ELAC software modification.
