The new working president of BJP, Nitin Nabin… is an embodiment of BJP’s tradition of making a worker a leader. This decision of the party should not be surprising. Because, BJP has been taking such shocking decisions before also. Yes, you can see it as a surprise. Because, even the party high command is keeping an eye on which worker and what decision is going to be taken regarding him, even he does not have a clue about whom the decision is taken.
Now let’s talk about Nitin Nabin. Now the whole country has started knowing him. Because, Nitin Nabin is not a leader who works with great pomp and show. The people of the country have very little information about him, hence people are reading and watching all kinds of information coming about him in the media with great attention. After all, what is so special about this 45 year old leader on which BJP played such a big bet? Know…
When Nitin was co-in-charge of BJP in Chhattisgarh…
Because, my first introduction to Nitin Nabin was as the co-in-charge of Chhattisgarh BJP. The year was 2023 and there was Bhupesh Baghel government of Congress in Chhattisgarh. At that time many political pundits believed that Congress was going to make a comeback. Om Mathur was BJP state in-charge at that time. I met Nitin Nabin for the first time during his interview. Because, he was not too old for Chhattisgarh. In the first interview he said, ‘Abhishek ji, you can ask anything, I am ready.’ Seeing his confidence, I felt that the interview was going to be great.
Got the time of 7 in the morning. We did the interview while walking on the lawn. I asked many questions ranging from Naxalism to the poor condition of Chhattisgarh BJP at that time. He answered well. This incident revealed that Nitin Nabin is a militant leader. As soon as he came to Chhattisgarh, he started doing homework on all the information here. This homework was not done from the books in the room, but from my tours across the state.
This incident is even more interesting….
The second incident is from the time when JP Nadda had reached Chhattisgarh during his presidential tenure. A program was organized in the state office of BJP. A small stage was made, on which many big BJP leaders were trying to be present along with JP Nadda. Suddenly someone realized where the in-charge Nitin Nabin was? (By then Nitin Nabin had become the in-charge from co-in-charge) Everyone’s eyes started searching for him. Everyone saw Nitin Nabin present below with the workers. He had to be present on that stage, but he did not show any hurry. These two incidents make it clear to some extent why BJP chose Nitin Nabin as its working president. Nitin Nabin remained in the field continuously during the assembly elections. Leaving the media cameras to the big leaders, he himself remained busy in hard work.
There is no justification for this question!
These days, the question being heard is that how will he be able to work among such big stalwarts of BJP? In such a situation, I think this question itself is meaningless. Because, Nitin Nabin is an expert in creating such balance. BJP’s decision to appoint Nitin Nabin as National Working President is not just an appointment, but a clear indication of the party’s long-term strategy and organizational thinking.
Nitin Nabin Grounded Leader
Nitin Nabin’s political journey represents organizational politics, different from traditional power politics. He is such a leader who has traveled from booth level to assembly and government. This background makes him a “grounded leader” who understands the grassroots problems of the organization and the expectations of the workers. BJP has been adopting the strategy of promoting such leaders for a long time.
BJP is now bringing forward such leaders at the national level who are relatively young, have administrative experience and can be groomed for future politics. Nitin Nabin is an apt example of this strategy, a balance of experience and energy. However, this responsibility will not be easy. He will have to prove that he is not only an organization leader but also a political strategist.
