West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has given a befitting reply to the controversy arising over chanting Jai Hind and Vande Mataram. He said that there is no question of any kind of ban on these slogans. Mamta Banerjee said, why won’t you speak? Jai Hind and Vande Mataram are our national slogans. This is the slogan of the freedom struggle. Jai Hind is the slogan given by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, and whoever collides with it will be shattered to pieces. CM said that patriotic slogans are not the legacy of any party or ideology, but are the identity of every Indian. He stressed that the culture of Bengal has always been linked to the country’s unity and freedom movement. This statement of Mamata Banerjee can once again heat up the atmosphere amidst increasing rhetoric in the state politics.
