Patna Barh Crime News: Heavy tension spread in the area after the body of missing youth Kanhaiya Sharma was found in the Ganga river from Lakhipur village of Salimpur police station area in Barh sub-division of Patna district. Family members allege that Kanhaiya was murdered after being kidnapped, while there is deep anger among the people regarding the police action.

Tension spread after the body of Kanhaiya Sharma, a resident of Lakhipur village of Salimpur police station area in Barh sub-division of Patna district of Bihar, was recovered from the Ganga river. The family members of Kanhaiya, who was missing since December 16, had initially expressed apprehension of kidnapping and murder. On Thursday, when the dead body was found, angry people created a ruckus accusing the police of negligence. During this, the protesters vandalized police vehicles, due to which 5 to 7 policemen including the police station incharge were injured. The injured were treated at Bakhtiyarpur CHC. There is tension in the area due to the incident and the police is deploying additional forces.
Kidnapping incident and FIR
Let us tell you that on the evening of 16th December, Kanhaiya Sharma had gone with his brother to see the fields in Ramnagar Diara. There some armed people forcibly took him along. On the complaint of family members, an FIR was registered in Salimpur police station, in which 14 people have been named. So far 3 accused have been arrested. SDPO Ayush Srivastava said that the matter seems to be related to land dispute and raids are going on to arrest the accused. Meanwhile, SDPO Ashish Srivastava termed the allegations against the police as baseless. The body has been sent to Barh Sub-Divisional Hospital for post-mortem.
Police attacked, soldier injured
As soon as the news of the dead body spread, family members and villagers demonstrated outside the Salimpur police station. Stones were pelted at the police accusing them of colluding with criminals. Police station incharge Archana Singh, Ananth Kumar, Manoj Kumar, Satish Chandra, Rajesh Gupta and others were injured in the attack. Arvind Kumar Sharma, an injured policeman, said he suffered injuries while trying to bring the situation under control. SDPO reached the spot and pacified the matter. Police say that the protesters had turned violent, but the situation is now under control.
