Nahariya Baba (Hanuman Temple) located in Janjgir-Naila is the main center of deep faith of the devotees, where thousands of devotees come for darshan especially on the New Year day, it is called Nahariya Baba because of the statue of Hanuman ji installed on the bank of the canal. At the beginning of the new year, devotees from nearby districts including Janjgir worship here and wish for the well-being of the family. Hanuman Chalisa is recited on every Saturday and Tuesday, as well. Bhandara and bhajan-kirtan are organized on New Year. Since the temple is situated near the railway track and canal, special security arrangements are made in view of the crowd. Nahariya Baba Temple is located about 300 meters away from Janjgir-Naila Railway Station.
The religious city of Shivrinarayan in Janjgir-Champa district of Chhattisgarh is called Gupt Prayag, here is the Triveni confluence of Mahanadi, Shivnath and Jok rivers, this area is rich in natural beauty, faith, historical and mythological beliefs and it is also considered to be the original place of Lord Jagannath and Jagannathpuri of Chhattisgarh, it is believed that Shri Ram resided here during his exile period and here he met Shabari and ate her false berries, This place is a living proof of the unbreakable relationship between the devotee and God, where even today devotees from far and wide come to see Lord Narayana. Maa Chandrahasini Devi Temple, one of the most ancient temples of Chhattisgarh, is situated on a small hill in Chandrapur in Sakti district, where Mata is seated as one of the 52 Shaktipeeths. Due to the shape of the moon, Maa is called Chandrahasini or Chandraseni and it is believed that the wishes of the devotees are fulfilled by darshan here and childless women get the happiness of children. The natural beauty of Chandrapur situated between Mahanadi and Mand river is the temple. To further enhance the grandeur, many mythological tableaux including a huge Shiva-Parvati statue have been built in the temple complex, while the Maha Aarti of 108 lamps is a special attraction during Chaitra and Kawar Navratri. Along with Navratri, a large number of devotees come here in the New Year also to receive the blessings of the Mother Goddess.

Shri Shyam Prem Mandir, included in the famous temples of Janjgir, is the main faith center of devotees for the beginning of the New Year, this temple built on the lines of Khatu Shyam Temple of Rajasthan is located near the Khoksha Railway Overbridge in Janjgir district headquarters and is inspired by the Prem Mandir of Vrindavan, the consecration took place here on the occasion of Love Day on 14 February 2022, Tirupati with Shri Khatu Shyam Baba in the temple. The idols of Balaji, Salasar Balaji, Jeen Mata, Shiva-Parvati, Shri Ram Darbar, Radha-Krishna and Durga Mata are installed, Shyam Sankirtan is organized here regularly, in which thousands of devotees participate, beautiful carvings and peaceful atmosphere make this temple special. The temple is located at a distance of about 3 kilometers from Janjgir Naila Railway Station, where auto and bus facilities are available.
The historical Lakshmaneshwar temple in Kharaud Nagar is very amazing and full of surprises in itself. This Shivling has a question hole, one of which leads to the underworld while the other hole is an Akshaya Kund. It is always filled with water. At the same time, due to the presence of question hole, Lakhneshwar is also called Mahadev. Due to presence of Savalakh hole in this Mahadev, offering Savalakh rice has special significance. To fulfill their wishes, people fill thousands of grains of rice in a cloth bag and offer them. This rice is also called Lakh Chaur or Laksh Rice. This Shivalinga was established by Lakshman himself. That is why Lakshmaneshwar is also called Mahadev. At the same time, this temple of Kharod is also called Kashi of Chhattisgarh.
