According to Barbara, public display of romance or affection (PDA) is strictly prohibited. Flight attendants are not allowed to participate in any kind of intimate moments while in uniform. Apart from this, smoking, whether cigarette or vape, is completely prohibited. Cabin crew members who have recently quit smoking are also not allowed to chew gum, so that they do not inadvertently create gum bubbles, which is considered against the dignity of the uniform.

Many works are prohibited in uniform
He told that the staff also has to keep in mind where they are drinking tea or coffee. Drinking coffee is also prohibited at the boarding gate, as it is considered against the rules. At the same time, consumption of alcohol is completely prohibited in uniform, no matter what the time. However, he laughingly said that “water is not taken away from anyone.” Barbara shared another interesting thing, flight attendants start judging passengers from the moment they step on the plane. “When we say ‘Welcome’ and welcome you with a smile, we are noticing a lot in one moment,” he said. She sees whether the passenger is walking confidently or has any kind of problem, whether he is nervous or under the influence of alcohol, whether he is with a child or someone who may need assistance. Not only this, they also assess whether a passenger can prove helpful in an emergency or not, such as his physical ability or medical training.
