Preparing useful items from water hyacinth
Let us tell you that Tharu women of areas like Bagaha, Harnatand and Ramnagar of the district are making some very wonderful items for domestic use from the water hyacinth growing in the reservoirs. Shubham Neeraj, a resident of Tharuhat, who organized these women together, says that these items prepared from water hyacinth include tea coasters, purses, hats of different sizes, hot pots, table cloth along with some other home decor items.
