Dr. Vandana Singh says that every month 15 to 20 AIDS patients are coming forward in Varanasi, whose identity is being kept confidential and they are being treated at the centre. Along with treatment, they are also being given information related to prevention. Earlier, only referrer cases used to come to the centre, but now youth are also coming here for testing. At present, the young generation is becoming its victim more. Every month more than 100 people are being tested for HIV at this centre.

Dr. Vandana Singh said that HIV is a dangerous disease. For this, our team is also continuously running awareness campaigns. For this, information is given from time to time to medical colleges, students and nursing colleges through seminars and other mediums. Dr. Vandana says that recently the young generation is most affected by this. AIDS can be spread through unprotected sex and using open syringes.

These are the initial symptoms
According to Dr. Vandana Singh, sudden weight loss, frequent mouth ulcers, lumps in the body, frequent diarrhea and sometimes TV like symptoms also occur in such patients. These are the main initial symptoms of AIDS, as soon as they appear, get tested for HIV at the nearest ART center.
