Hyderabad. What is there to like in the city during winter season? Spicy spices, rich meat and warm desi flavours. But this time there is a dish which is breaking this pattern. Burma Burma Restaurant’s winter special Comfort Iz Khausue is one such ‘hot bowl’, which has surprised the diners. Those who eat it are calling it not just a dish, but a “feeling of warmth”, which is adding a new dimension to the cool winter weather of Hyderabad.
At first glance it seems to be a simple noodle soup, but as its layers are revealed, a new dimension of taste emerges. Fresh noodles, mild spiciness, herbs and crunchy toppings in a thick coconut soup—all come together to create a flavor that is completely different from the typical winter dishes in the city. This taste is a perfect blend of crunchy, creamy and warm.
‘Khasue’ means noodles in Burmese, but in Hyderabad it has come to be called “comfort bowl”. At Burma Burma located in Knowledge City, this dish is served in six different styles to satisfy every taste preference. This winter menu will be available from 1 December 2025 to 31 January 2026.
sixth taste of six bowls
Burma Burma includes various regional variations of khaousye on the menu:
- Downtown Khow Suey: This is perfect for those who like spicy. It has thick curry, thick noodles and fried wonton sheets, which give a feeling of crunch.
- Grandmother’s Famous Khow Suey: This is the most popular, inspired by the restaurant co-founder’s grandmother’s traditional recipe.
- No Ze Khow Suey: This gives a different experience because of its milky soup, which leaves a light, sweet taste even after eating.
Non-Alcoholic Burmese Cocktail Tadka
Non-alcoholic drinks like Pandan Royale and Burma Sour, which are included in the winter menu, balance out the spicy and creamy taste of khosu. The freshness of Pandan Royale in particular pairs perfectly with the warmth of Khaosue, making this combo a perfect winter meal.
Not just noodles, starter and dessert also have hidden surprises
Apart from Khaosue, this special menu also includes some starters and desserts. Potato and Crunchy Shiitake Fingers pack a burst of flavor in every bite. For dessert lovers the Coconut Pineapple Crème Brulee is the most refreshing and memorable flavor on this menu, ending the meal on a sweet and tropical note. For food lovers, this is an experience that is difficult to miss.
