Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was born on 23 January in Cuttack (present-day Odisha) to Jankinath Bose and Prabhati Dutt. Bose was an active part of the youth wing of the Indian National Congress before becoming Congress President in 1938.
Bose traveled to Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, and Imperial Germany when World War II began to find a way through which he could free India from British rule.
Netaji’s death remains a mystery even today. Government records show that he died during a plane crash in Taiwan, but there are many theories about how Netaji died for working in secret.
