New Delhi. India has achieved a major diplomatic victory against Pakistan on the front of terrorism. The United Nations has declared Abdul Rehman Makki, the deputy chief of Pakistan-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, as a global terrorist.
The Al Qaeda Sanctions Committee of the Security Council has unanimously designated Makki as a global blacklist after China pulled out of blocking a joint proposal by India and the US to blacklist Makki, the deputy chief of Pakistan-based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The way has been cleared to be included in the list of terrorists.

The 1267 ISIL (Daesh) and Al Qaeda Sanctions Committee of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on Monday included 68-year-old Makki in the list of declared terrorists. The United Nations Sanctions Committee, citing reasons for including Makki’s name in the list of Global Terrorists, said that ‘Makki and other members of Lashkar/JuD’ are involved in terror funding, radicalizing youth to violence and in India, especially in Jammu. – Have been involved in plotting attacks in Kashmir.

Mainly three types of action are taken against that person or organization when the name appears in the list of international terrorists of the United Nations. First of all, all the properties of that person or organization declared terrorist are confiscated in all the countries of the world. Along with this, it is also ensured that he does not get funding in any way.

Apart from this, a complete travel ban is imposed on that person. That is, he will not be able to travel to any other country and at the same time he will not be allowed to travel to the country of which he is a citizen or the country in which he is currently living. With this, there will be a complete ban on providing any kind of weapon or material used in making weapons to that person. If these restrictions are ignored, then strict action can be taken against them.

Born in Bahawalpur, located in the Punjab province of Pakistan, Makki has already been declared a terrorist by the US and India. He is a member of JuD’s Markji (Central) team and Dawati (Conversion) team. A press release issued by the United Nations said that Makki is the deputy emir/chief of the Lashkar-e-Taiba alias Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) and heads the political affairs wing of the JuD/LeT. He has been the head of Lashkar’s foreign affairs department and a member of the shura (governing body).
Abdul Rehman Makki, 68, is a close relative of Hafiz Saeed, the chief of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba and the mastermind of the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai. Makki’s position in Lashkar comes at number two after Hafiz. It is said that after Hafiz Saeed went to jail, Makki is looking after all the work of Lashkar.
The inclusion of Makki in the list of international terrorists is being called the second major diplomatic victory for India after the year 2019 in the United Nations. In 2019, this global organization declared Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar as a global terrorist.
