Agra: In Agra, Uttar Pradesh, cases of diabetes are increasing rapidly among people of all ages. Sugar disease is also being seen in children. Diabetes is no longer a problem only for the elderly, but youth and children are also becoming its victims. Dr. Prabhat Aggarwal, diabetes specialist of Sarojini Naidu Medical College, Agra, said that there are two types of diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is seen in young children, while type 2 diabetes is more common in youth and adults. Dr. Aggarwal said that type 2 diabetes is mostly caused by unhealthy food, obesity and lack of physical exercise.
Type 1 diabetes, childhood disease
According to Dr. Prabhat Aggarwal, type 1 diabetes occurs in small children. It is found in children older than 9-10 months and children below 17-18 years of age. Type 1 diabetes is caused by lack of insulin, so children are given insulin regularly. He told that in this situation the child’s body is not able to produce insulin on its own, hence medical care is very important.
Risk of diabetes increases due to change in lifestyle
Dr. Aggarwal said that changing lifestyle is also the main reason for the increase in diabetes. People no longer do physical hard work, consumption of junk food and packet food has increased and working on mobile or laptop for long hours has become common. To stay healthy, it is very important to do jogging, running and yoga in the morning. He told that if a person gives some time to his body and does regular exercise, then the risk of diabetes can be reduced to a great extent.
