Ways to deal with social anxiety
To deal with social anxiety, it can be defeated by trying some easy measures at home, such as-
– 4-7-8 breathing technique. For this, inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 7 seconds, and exhale slowly in 8 seconds. Anxiety reduces immediately.
– Small steps like first just saying ‘Hi-Hello’ to a stranger, then gradually increase the conversation. Celebrate every small victory.
– Do not let negative thoughts enter your mind. Keep yourself positive and ask yourself, “What’s the worst that can happen? And what difference will it make after 5 years?”
– Do meditation and asanas. Do mindfulness meditation for at least 5-10 minutes daily, practice living in the present, walk for 30 minutes daily, do yoga, sleep for 7-8 hours, and reduce the intake of tea and coffee. Along with this, share your thoughts with your friends or family, do not remain alone.
– If things get out of hand, seek help from a psychiatrist or counselor. Take CBT therapy as per advice. It is very effective in this problem.
