DhanbadIn 2013, Rahul Kumar was associated with Shri Manan Nishulka and Discuss Centre, At that time, there were not many coaching institutes and facilities available in Jharia for preparation of competitive examinations, Rahul Kumar got information from one of his friends that preparation for various competitive exams is done at Shri Manan Free and Discussion Center and here special attention is given to group discussion, He joined this center for this very purpose,
Due to regular studies here and competitive environment, many students including Rahul Kumar achieved success in various government examinations within 1 to 2 years. Rahul Kumar started preparing for SSC CHSL exam and the result of the exam came in 2014. After this, he joined at the end of 2016. Presently he is working as Postal Assistant in Jal Gol Post Office, Dhanbad.
Syllabus and strategy is the path to success
Rahul Kumar told that earlier the selection of Postal Assistant was done through SSC CHSL examination. But now this post has been included under SSC CGL (CGL Combined Graduate Level). This means that now to become a Postal Assistant, it is mandatory for the candidate to have graduation and he has to pass the SSC CGL exam.
What is Postal Assistant post?
Postal Assistant is an important post of the Indian Postal Department (India Post). The main job of the employee working on this post is to handle the work related to letters, parcels, speed post, registry, savings account, RD, FD, money order and other postal services in the post office. Along with this, postal assistant is also responsible for data entry on computer, giving information to customers and operation of government schemes. This is considered a respectable and permanent government job.
Syllabus for preparation of Postal Assistant
Now for Postal Assistant one has to appear for SSC CGL exam. Its syllabus is mainly divided into four parts.
1. General Intelligence and Reasoning- This includes questions on verbal and non-verbal reasoning. Like similarity and difference, coding-decoding, series, direction knowledge, blood relation, puzzle, Venn diagram etc.
2. General Awareness – In this, questions related to India and the world are asked. Like History, Geography, Politics, Economy, Science, Current Affairs, Sports, Awards and Schemes.
3. Quantitative Aptitude (Mathematics)- There are questions in Mathematics from 10th level to graduation level. Like Percentage, Profit-Loss, Simple and Compound Interest, Ratio-Proportion, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Trigonometry, Algebra and Data Interpretation.
4. English Comprehension- In this the understanding of English language is tested. Like Grammar, Vocabulary, Sentence Improvement, Cloze Test, Passage and Spelling.

Rahul Kumar said that it is important to pay special attention to regular studies, mock tests, previous years’ question papers and current affairs. If students work hard in the right direction and prepare as per the syllabus, then it is possible to get selected on a post like Postal Assistant.
