Sonali Bendre’s Controversy: Actress Sonali Bendre, who won the battle with cancer, talked about following the autophagy study on the advice of a naturopath on social media. This gave her a lot of relief and she is still adopting it. Many doctors, including Syriac AB Phillips, famously known as the Liver Doctor, strongly objected to his statement and called it misleading. Doctors say that cancer cannot be cured by autophagy. For this, proper treatment has to be done.
Sonali Bendre Autophagy Remark: Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre was diagnosed with cancer in the year 2018. For this, he went to New York and got treatment and succeeded in defeating this deadly disease. Sonali Bendre is a source of inspiration for all cancer patients. She found this method very helpful and even today she follows it in her life.
Sonali Bendre’s statement was not liked by some doctors and they expressed strong objection on social media. Hepatologist and Dr. Cyriac AB Phillips, known as The Liver Doc on social media, wrote on Sonali Bendre’s post that as a clinician sub-specialist who treats many cancer patients every day, he expected better from Sonali Bendre. Celebrity cancer survivors are an important asset for cancer patients and their families. I think you are not helping by promoting quacks here.
Dr. Abby Phillips further wrote, “In 2018, you were diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic endometrial cancer, which had spread to other parts of the body. You moved to New York for an intensive cancer treatment regimen including chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. In 2019, you shared that you were in remission and have become officially cancer-free and returned to India. I repeat, your cancer was chemotherapy, You have the option to choose the best treatment after radiation and naturopathy treatment. Fake cancer treatment under the guise of naturopathy is a serious issue, which leads to delay in getting effective, evidence-based medical care. “Many cases of exploitation and harming them have come to light.”
