The West Bengal government has told the Election Commission that it has provided security to the returning officer of Nandigram assembly constituency.
Referring to the counting of votes on Sunday, the commission said that there was an observer at every table. He said, “There was no indication of any disturbance in the counting process on their respective table in their report.” The Commission said that no doubt was disclosed on the result of each round of counting, due to which the Returning Officer increased in the direction of counting of votes. The EC said that a copy of the results of each round was shared with all counting agents and they signed the result sheet.
