Air quality also increased the problem
Not only fog but poor air quality has increased the problems in the plains districts including Dehradun. With AQI level of Dehradun reaching beyond 300, respiratory patients are not only facing problems but it is also affecting the environment. Dust particles increase the problems with air. These problems are increasing due to lack of rain.
Effect of fog on all three journeys
While driving on the roads became difficult due to fog, the cold also increased due to drop in temperature. Due to fog in the plains, air services and rail travel are also getting affected. Due to fog, there are some problems at Dehradun airport. Due to low visibility, a flight from Delhi has been diverted to Chandigarh, while a flight from Jaipur has also been cancelled. Some remaining flights are also arriving late. The maximum and minimum temperatures in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand remain above normal, while the plain districts are experiencing colder temperatures than the mountains. Director of Meteorological Center, Dehradun, Dr. CS Tomar informed that rain may be seen somewhere in the state on 20th and 21st. Because from December 20, some effect of western disturbance can be seen in the state.
Chance of rain and snowfall today
According to the information received from the Meteorological Department, today there is a possibility of very light to light rain and snowfall at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Pithoragarh districts of the state. Whereas there is a possibility of snowfall in areas at altitude of about 3500 meters and above. The weather is likely to remain dry in the remaining districts of the state. According to the weather forecast, today there is a possibility of dense fog in some places in the plains of Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital, Champawat, Pauri and Dehradun districts. There will be cold day conditions at some places in Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar. In Dehradun today too, the sky is likely to be clear to partly cloudy. There is a possibility of fog in the morning and evening. Today the maximum temperature of Dehradun is expected to be 22 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 8 degree Celsius.
Minimum temperature of Mukteshwar 6.3
According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature of Dehradun was recorded at 22.2 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 7.3 degrees Celsius yesterday. Whereas the maximum temperature of Pantnagar was 14.3 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 6.8 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature of Mukteshwar was 21 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 6.3 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature of New Tehri was recorded at 18 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 5.7 degrees Celsius.
