Weather Update: Signs of snowfall and rain in North India, know where and how is the weather alert

New Delhi. If there is some relief from the outbreak of cold wave in North India, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in the hilly areas. The Meteorological Department has said on Wednesday that from tomorrow i.e. January 19, there are signs of increase in temperature by 2 to 3 degrees in the north-west region of India. A disturbance is forming in the Western Himalayan region which will help in changing the weather from January 21 to January 25. Due to this, there will be snowfall and rain in the hilly areas. There is a possibility of rain and showers in the plains.

The Meteorological Department has said that light rain or thundershowers may occur at some places in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi in North India. On the other hand, on January 23-24, there are chances of moderate rains in the surrounding areas. The weather will remain like this for the next 7 days. There are indications of very light drizzle or increase in humidity in remote areas.

Light to moderate rain in Punjab, Delhi and NCR: There is a possibility of light rain in Punjab, Delhi and NCR in the next 3 to 4 days. Light to moderate rain may occur in Chandigarh and surrounding areas of Punjab. On the other hand, on January 23, there will be rain with thunder and lightning in Punjab and NCR region. Similarly, there is a possibility of light rain in the areas of Delhi, Punjab and Haryana on 24 and 25 January.

Cold wind will blow in Uttar Pradesh, it will rain: According to the Meteorological Department, there are indications of rain in eastern Uttar Pradesh on January 24 and 25 while in western Uttar Pradesh on January 23 and 24. At some places it will rain with thunder and light rain, at some places there are chances of moderate to light rain.

Snowfall and rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh: There is a possibility of rain and snowfall in the hilly areas of Jammu and Kashmir from January 21, while there is a possibility of rain in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Here the weather will remain like this till 25 January. Weather activities may intensify on 23rd and 24th. While on and after January 25, there will be light rain in far-flung areas. Compared to Jammu-Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, there will be a slight change in the weather in Uttarakhand. There will be snowfall and rain in the hilly areas, then it may rain in Joshimath.
