New Delhi. Areas from Delhi to Bihar are expected to get relief from the severe cold wave in the next few days. North and North West India is shivering with severe cold wave since last few weeks. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), two western disturbances can affect northwest India on January 18 and January 20. IMD said that due to its effect, the cold wave condition in North West India is likely to end from January 19. Before that, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand between January 18 and 20 due to Western Disturbances.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a fresh Western Disturbance can affect the Western Himalayan region from the night of 18 January. Due to this, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during January 18 to 20. Meanwhile, the second Western Disturbance can bring rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from January 20 to 24. Between January 20 and 22, rain has also been predicted in the plains of northwest India.

According to IMD, by the morning of January 17, there is a possibility of a further drop of about two degrees Celsius in the minimum temperature in many parts of northwest India. However, no significant changes are predicted till January 18. After this, the temperature in this area is expected to increase by four to six degrees Celsius between January 19 and 21. Whereas by January 18, there is a possibility of a drop of two to four degree Celsius in the minimum temperature in many parts of East India and after that there will be no significant change. After Wednesday, the temperature in Gujarat is also expected to increase by two to four degrees Celsius.
