New Delhi. There is a possibility of cold wave again in North India in the next two to three days, while due to increase in temperature due to Western Disturbance in North West India, the cold has reduced at present. This is to say of Soma Sen Roy, scientist of the Meteorological Department.
He said, ‘Right now the cold has reduced in North India. After 2 days, the temperature will decrease again in the whole of North India. Maximum temperature will decrease in Punjab, Haryana, West Rajasthan. Gradually, the temperature will decrease in the eastern states. There is a possibility of Sheetlahar coming again.
Scientist Roy further said, ‘From January 15, the condition of cold wave can be created. Due to strong winds in the coming 2-4 days, the condition of fog will not worsen much. There is also a possibility of dense fog around January 15-16. In view of the seasonal rise in temperature, he said that different cold wave conditions may prevail in different parts of the country.
Dense fog in East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar
According to a bulletin issued by the IMD, there is a possibility of cold wave once again from January 15 in some areas of Delhi and its neighboring states. Due to strong winds due to the current Western Disturbance, people will get relief from fog in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh, but a layer of dense to very dense fog will prevail over East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Delhi’s minimum temperature is 9.3 degree Celsius
According to the Meteorological Department, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 9.3 degrees Celsius on Thursday, two notches above normal. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 19 degree Celsius. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, Delhi recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 358 at 9 am on Thursday.
An AQI between 0 and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 and 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 and 200 ‘moderate’, 201 and 300 ‘poor’, 301 and 400 ‘very poor’ and Between 401 and 500 is considered ‘severe’. According to the IMD, the humidity level in the air at 8.30 am was 97 per cent.
