There has been a big increase in the strength of the Indian Navy as the warship INS Mahe has joined the Navy. Commissioned by Army Chief Upendra Duvedi, this warship is equipped with 80% indigenous equipment, which reflects India’s indigenous strength. INS Mahe is designed to search, track and destroy enemy submarines. It is 78 meters long, 11 meters wide and weighs 1100 tonnes, and can move at a speed of 25 knots (about 46 km per hour). It is equipped with state-of-the-art sonar system and anti-submarine rocket launcher, which make it extremely effective against enemy submarines.
