Katihar: Virendra Kumar, a resident of Maniyan in Katihar district of Bihar, fondly known as Bhai Virendra, has today become a new ray of hope in the lives of hundreds of orphans and destitute children. It is not easy to leave a mechanical engineering job in Bengaluru and choose the path of social service, but Virendra has taken this step with full determination and human sensitivity. With this decision he proved that ultimately you have to take a decision for your happiness.
Virendra Kumar was working in Honda company at a monthly salary of Rs 35,000. Once when he came to Katihar and saw the condition of orphans and destitute children wandering on the streets, his mind was disturbed. This was the very moment when he left his job and resolved to give a new life to such orphans and destitute children. After leaving the job, he established a school in Katihar, where he provides shelter and education only to orphan, helpless and homeless children.
Today about 103 children are living in his school. Virendra not only provides them free education, but also provides them food, clothing, health and all the living facilities himself. Virendra depends on donations for the upbringing of these children. He goes to the shops in the market and explains his needs and people happily cooperate. Some give them flour, some rice and some spices. Those who can do whatever they can do. People of Katihar also come forward in large numbers to help. With the help of people, food and other facilities are provided for the children. The stories of the children living in the school are also inspiring.
