Patna/Nawada. Bihar’s health system is once again under question. A video that surfaced from Akbarpur Primary Health Center in Nawada has exposed the negligence of the entire system. 75-year-old Keshari Devi died during treatment, but the hospital administration neither provided an ambulance nor arranged for a hearse to take the body. It is alleged that after prolonged requests by the family, the hospital gave only one stretcher. The video shows the family members carrying the dead body on a stretcher under compulsion, which shocked everyone. According to family members, they could not arrange any private vehicle as it was night. Instead of providing stretchers, the hospital also imposed a condition on the two families to stay there, which revealed the painful reality of the government system. After the news appeared in the media, the administration came into action. Show-cause notice has been issued to the medical in-charge of Akbarpur CHC, doctor on duty, GNM and hospital manager. Civil Surgeon Vinod Kumar Chaudhary said that this is a very serious negligence and if a satisfactory answer is not received, action is certain. After this incident, Health Manager Kanan Priya of Community Health Center Akbarpur Nawada has been suspended. This action has been taken on the orders of Health Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh. ED of State Health Committee suspended the health manager. It is being told that the patient Keshari Devi had died during treatment and after her death, no ambulance or hearse was provided to take the body. The Health Secretary described this incident as extremely indecent and said that such incidents tarnish the image of the government. This shameful picture of the health system has once again raised a big question on the condition of the system that for how long will people be forced to bear such compulsion?
