Mumbai. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of projects worth more than Rs 38,000 crore on his visit to Mumbai on Thursday with the aim of developing infrastructure, facilitating urban travel and strengthening healthcare. Along with this, he also dedicated Mumbai Metro Rail Line 2A and 7 costing about Rs 12,600 crore to the nation. During this, he enjoyed traveling in the metro.
Metro Line 2A connecting Dahisar (East) and DN Nagar (Yellow Line) is approximately 18.6 km long, while Metro Line 7 connecting Andheri (East) and Dahisar (East) (Red Line) is approximately 16.5 km long. Interestingly, Prime Minister Modi himself had laid the foundation stone of these lines in 2015.
