However, after the construction of the Old Manali bridge before the tourist season, it has now been opened to the people.

In this series, due to flash flood in Old Manali, the bridge built on Manalsu river was also broken. Now a new bailey bridge is ready here. This Bailey bridge, which was built with a cost of Rs 1 crore 35 lakh, was dedicated to the public by MLA Bhuvneshwar Gaud on Monday.
According to the information, after the breakdown of this bridge for the last 75 days, people going to Old Manali were facing a lot of trouble.
After inaugurating the bridge, MLA Bhuvneshwar Gaur said that with the construction of this bridge, the villagers of Shanag and Burua of Ujhi valley along with Manali village have also got the facility to travel to Manali. He said that the work on the link road being built from Manali city to Manali village is also going on war footing. He said that 14 roads were damaged in Manali assembly constituency due to floods, out of which six roads are completely ready while eight roads have been restored for small vehicles. Soon these remaining roads will also be restored for heavy vehicles. He said that on the demand of the villagers, a road will be built from Nehru Kund bridge to Baker and Krishna Pot. PWD department has been asked to make its estimate.

It is noteworthy that due to heavy rains on August 25 and 26, Manalsu river was in spate. The bridge over the river had collapsed due to flood. Due to which the road leading to Palchan via Club House of Old Manali was also damaged. Apart from this, the Chandigarh Manali National Highway between Kullu and Manali was also broken at many places and the Beas river started flowing on the highway. Apart from this, Manali bypass was also completely broken, the work of which is going on.
