Dhobi, who was cleaning clothes on the river bank, caught sight of him. The washerman saw the sinking ground in the river and opened it. He was very happy to get so much gold and a little girl.
She named the child Sassi as she was beautiful like lunar art. Time passed and the beauty of Sasi began to be discussed far and wide. On the other hand, someone from the Dhobi society informed the Raja of Bhimbore that the house of a dhobi is a beautiful girl who deserves to be the beauty of the palace. The middle king sent an invitation to Sasi’s marriage. Sasi’s foster father went there on the call of the king and he showed his compulsion by showing the talisman of the birth of Sasi to the king. On seeing the talisman, the king remembered all those old things. He felt ashamed of his intention Hearing the whole story, the queen mother yearned for her daughter’s love. But time started again. One day Sassi saw the picture of Punnu near the merchants coming through the river and was fascinated by it. She started longing for Punnu without meeting him. On the other hand, Punnu, who lives in a far country, was unaware of this. After much research Sassi finds Punnu’s address. The merchants who gave information told themselves of Punnu’s brother in the greed of reward and Sasi got him arrested. Sasi placed a condition that if she brought Punnu, she would leave him.
On the other hand, even after the parents refused, the merchants convinced Punnu to go with them. The caravan returned to Bhimbore with Punnu. The merchants left their camels free in the garden of Sassi and those camels destroyed the entire garden. Due to which Sasi took a lot of news about the caravan. But Anjaan wandered away from the Punnu caravan and went to the garden and slept there on the Sage of the decorated Sasi. Punnu’s sleep was broken due to the screaming voice, in front of him, he looked sassy, who was chasing Kanwar. Both of them had four eyes for the first time. Sasi Punnu lost so much in love that how the ten days had passed was not known.

On the other hand, Punnu’s mother started suffering in disconnection of her son. Seeing this mother’s condition from Punnu’s brothers, she went out to take him. On Punnu’s refusal to leave, he gave him plenty of liquor and took him along in a state of unconsciousness. Sissy weeping here was agonizing. Sassi’s mother explained her a lot but Sassi decided that she would go to Punnu. Sassi’s mother showed her fear of a long burning registan but Sassi wanted to meet Punnu.
Sasi walked in the desert in search of her Punnu and went barefoot alone in the river of fire. She was injured by the scorching sun, the blazing sand and the terrible heat waves. She was seen by a sheep shepherd in this condition, but upon seeing a girl in a deserted desert, he was frightened and hid. Calling Sasi for help, he gave up his life there.
On the other hand, when Punnu came to his senses, he too yearned for his sixty. He too grew up in the burning desert to reach the verdant. Moving forward, he reached the same place where Sassi was swallowed by the burning desert. The shepherd was still sitting there, and he told Punnu about Sascy’s sandstone and took him to the place. Punnu also took samadhi there.

In the year 1932, Sarada Movietone presented the story of these two for the first time on the silver screen. In the year 1933, Mahalaxmi Sinetone also presented this screen on the screen in the name of ‘Bubbles Punjab’ aka ‘Fairy of Punjab’. After this, in 1935, this story was titled ‘Sassi’ and in 1946 Vaswani Art Productions introduced the film ‘Sassi-Punnu’ to the audience. All these films were hits.
