Lucknow: A big step is being taken towards giving a new identity to AYUSH medical systems in the state. Traditional medical systems like Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy will now be linked to the digital platform. Soon such an AYUSH app will be prepared, through which patients will be able to connect with the doctor sitting at home and avail facilities like OPD.
With the aim of bringing AYUSH medical systems closer to the common people, the AYUSH department is now going to establish a strong presence in the digital world. For this, preparations are being made to develop a state-of-the-art AYUSH app in collaboration with IIT Kanpur. Through this app, patients will get online OPD facility. This means that now there will be no need to stand in queues for hours in hospitals or AYUSH centers for treatment. Appointments can be booked and doctor’s consultation can be done through mobile phone only.
Complete information will be available on one app
On this AYUSH app, not only online appointments but also all the important information related to AYUSH will be made available. Patients will be able to know which AYUSH method is effective for which disease, where the nearest AYUSH center is located and which doctor can be contacted. This will increase both confidence and awareness among people towards AYUSH treatment.
Big relief to senior citizens and women
According to AYUSH Principal Secretary Ranjan Kumar, this app will prove to be very beneficial especially for senior citizens, women and people living in remote areas. Now the elderly will not have to travel long distances for treatment and women will also be able to get consultation safely at home. This will save both time and expense.
There will be less crowd in hospitals
With the introduction of online OPD and appointment facility, crowding in AYUSH hospitals and centers will also reduce. Patients will get a chance to meet the doctor at the scheduled time, due to which there will be no chaos. Besides, there will be transparency in health services and patients will get a better experience.
AYUSH will get new expansion
This effort to connect AYUSH through digital medium will prove to be a new extension to traditional medical systems. With this, the young generation will also be attracted towards AYUSH and a better coordination of tradition with technology will be seen. Through the app, AYUSH services will not only be limited to cities, but will also be easily accessible to villages and remote areas.
May be launched soon
Brainstorming is going on between AYUSH Department and IIT Kanpur regarding the app. Work is going on on the technical aspects and it is expected that this app will be available to the people in the coming time. Overall, this initiative is being considered an important step towards connecting AYUSH medicine with the modern era, which will directly benefit the common people.
