Aligarh. There was a dispute over buying chicken from a community-specific restaurant near Sarai Sultani Chowki in Sasni Gate police station area of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. In the debate between the youths of two communities, stones were pelted fiercely for a long time. Three youths Akash, Siddharth and Naresh Gautam were injured in this incident. The injured youths were immediately sent to the hospital for treatment.
On the other hand, after a long delay in stone pelting, IG Deepak Kumar, DM Indra Vikram Singh, SSP Kalanidhi Naithani, all officers, police force of several police stations of the district along with PAC reached the spot and started trying to calm the atmosphere. The relatives of the injured youths and their supporters came to the spot and sat on a dharna and demanded strict action against the accused, including the closure of the said chicken shop.
There has already been a ruckus
People allege that many times in the past there have been fights and ruckus between the two communities. The officers were explaining to the people that suddenly the mob once again became furious and ransacked the counter and the tandoor furnace kept outside a chicken shop and threw it away. The crowd of the other community started pelting stones from the street of Sultan Ki Sarai, then the people of both the communities once again came face to face in front of all the officers and again there was fierce stone pelting. Somehow both the sides were pacified again. IG Deepak Kumar took the mike in hand and advised the people inside the street to stay inside their houses and appealed to maintain peace. SSP Kalanidhi Naithani and IG Deepak Kumar have spoken of action on the basis of the complaint received.
