Karnataka News: CJM court in Udupi found ten Bangladeshi citizens including Hakim Ali guilty of illegal entry and possessing fake identity cards and sentenced them to 2 years imprisonment and Rs 10,000 fine. The group had made fake Aadhaar cards and had entered India illegally from Bangladesh and were living in Hoode, Paduthonse village of Udupi.
Udupi. The CJM Court in Udupi, Karnataka convicted ten Bangladeshi nationals for entering India illegally and staying with fake identity cards and sentenced them to 2 years imprisonment. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on each convict. The case is of October 11, 2024, when PSI Praveen Kumar R of Malpe police station along with his staff saw seven people in suspicious condition near Vadabhandeshwar bus stand in Malpe.
When interrogated, they could not produce valid documents allowing them to stay in India. Police investigation revealed that the group had made fake Aadhaar cards and had entered India illegally from Bangladesh and were living in Hoode, Paduthonse village of Udupi.
After arresting him, a case was registered under various sections at Malpe Police Station. During the investigation led by Circle Police Inspector, three more illegal immigrants were detected, taking the total number of accused to 10.
The accused were identified as Hakeem Ali, Sujon SK alias Farooq, Ismail SK alias Mohammad Ismail Haq, Karim SK alias Abdul Karim, Salam SK alias Mohammad Abdul Aziz, Rajikul SK, Mohammad Sojib alias Mohammad Alan Ali, Rimul alias Abdul Rehman, Mohammad Imam Shaikh and Mohammad Jahangir Alam. After completion of the investigation, the police filed a charge sheet in the court. The court gave its verdict on 8 December. The court convicted all ten people for illegal entry into the country, counterfeiting and related crimes.
