According to the information, both these youths have been arrested near bus stand Hamirpur. On the basis of secret information, the Sadar Police Station team took both the youths home at the bus stand. It is being told that both the youths were returning from Hoshiarpur in Punjab with Chitta.
The accused have been identified as Rajat Mehra (29), son of Om Prakash, resident of Ward No. 2, Hamirpur and Ayush Thakur, son of Sanjay Kumar, resident of village Chhioi, district Bilaspur. Police investigation has revealed that the accused Ayush Thakur is studying D.Pharma from a private institute located near the bus stand.
Police is taking further action against both the accused at Sadar Hamirpur Police Station. This action has once again proved that Hamirpur Police is keeping a strict vigil on every link of drug smuggling and no leniency is being given in such cases.
SP Bhagat Singh Negi said that the police was keeping a close watch on these people for the last few days and after receiving the information, they were successful in catching both of them with drugs on the spot. It is expected that some more information will be found during the interrogation. The department against drugs is doing less than usual. It is noteworthy that on behalf of the Himachal Pradesh government, the police is continuously waging a campaign to make the drug-free campaign effective. It is being told that the price of this chitta in the market is around Rs 10 lakh.
