According to the information, Hamirpur police arrested two youths with chitta during patrolling on Wednesday morning. In different cases, about 2 grams of Chitta has been recovered from the accused. Shubham Sharma (26) of Oak village of Badsar was arrested by the police from Galod area. 1 gram chitta was recovered from him.
In another case, Akash Sharma (27), nephew of BJP MLA from Badsar Inder Dutt Lakhanpal, resident of village Neri, has been caught in Samlehada forest. One gram of pyre has been recovered from the accused. Accused Akash is the son of MLA’s brother-in-law. A machine for weighing chitta has also been recovered from the sky. SP Balveer Singh said that one gram of pyre each has been recovered from both the accused, a case has been registered against both of them under NDPS Act and investigation has been started. The SP said that the network of the accused and their role in the crime and their involvement in chitta smuggling will be investigated in depth.
Reward will be given for giving information about chitta smugglers
It is noteworthy that the Sukhu government in Himachal Pradesh has also announced a reward for giving information about chitta smugglers. According to the government, if any person gives information about 2 grams of chitta, he will be given a reward of Rs 10,000. Apart from this, Rs 25 thousand will be given on information of 5 grams, Rs 50 thousand on 25 grams, Rs 5 lakh on 1 kg and Rs 10 lakh will be given on information of 5 kg. Apart from this, if the leader of the network is caught, he will get Rs 5 lakh. The name of the person giving information will be kept confidential and the reward will be given within 30 days.
