Patna: Since the beginning of December, the cold in the morning and evening has been continuously increasing. Dense fog is covering entire Bihar in the morning, while as the sun sets, the temperature is falling rapidly. Not only the night, but the day temperature also remains below normal. During the last 24 hours, night temperatures were recorded below 10°C in all 19 districts of South Bihar.
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning that this weather pattern will remain like this for a few days. After this, fluctuations in temperature may be seen. At the same time, there is a possibility of severe cold increasing once again after mid-December.
Night temperature reached near 5°C
During the last 24 hours, the minimum temperature in most of the districts has been recorded around 10 degrees. Whereas the lowest temperature was recorded at 5.7°C in Adhaura block of Kaimur (Bhabhua) district. This is the lowest minimum temperature of this season so far. It is clear from this that the cold is increasing very fast in the hilly and south Bihar parts. The minimum temperature in all 19 districts of South Bihar was recorded below 10°C. Whereas the minimum temperature of all the districts of North Bihar remained between 10-11°C.
Fog continues to rage
During the next 2 days, light to moderate fog with below normal temperatures is expected in parts of West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Muzaffarpur, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Araria, Kishanganj, Bhagalpur, Jamui, Banka, Patna, Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada, Lakhisarai, Sasaram and Kaimur districts.
What is the future of temperature?
According to the forecast issued by Bihar Meteorological Service Centre, the night temperature in Bihar will be between 5 to 12 degrees Celsius during the next 48 hours. There are also signs of decline in day temperature and it may remain around 24-28 degrees Celsius.
However, the temperature is likely to rise by 1-2°C from December 8. Also, moderate to strong westerly wind (up to 40 km/hr) is expected to continue in the state. With the increase in wind speed, the chill will be felt even more.
There will be severe cold after December 15
Meteorologists estimate that after December 15, a cold wave-like situation may arise in Bihar. Its trailer has been seen on Friday and Saturday. Now in many districts the night temperature can go down to or below 5 degrees. In such a situation, the elderly, children and sick people have been appealed to take special precautions.
