A burnt layer often accumulates on the pans and fry pans used daily in the kitchen, which becomes difficult to clean. Instead of using expensive chemical cleaners, this layer can be easily removed by adopting home remedies like baking soda, lemon, salt, vinegar, hot water, detergent and ash. A little wisdom and proper use of household items can make your utensils shine like new again in minutes.
Generally, tawa and fry pan are the most used utensils in the home kitchen. While making rotis, parathas and vegetables every day, sometimes a burnt layer gets accumulated on the tawa and pan, which becomes very difficult to clean. Many times, roti is not cooked properly due to the burnt layer, and the pan is forced to be changed. But if you adopt home-made Jugaad instead of expensive chemical cleaners, then both the tawa and the fry pan can shine in a few minutes without much effort.
The easiest and effective home remedy is to use baking soda and lemon. First sprinkle some water on the burnt tawa or pan and then add baking soda. Rub cut lemon over it. Leave it like this for 5 to 10 minutes. After this, by rubbing lightly with a scrubber or coconut net, the burnt layer gets removed easily.
If the burnt layer on the pan has become too thick, then the use of salt and vinegar is also very effective. Sprinkle coarse salt on the pan and pour a little vinegar on top, this mixture loosens the burnt layer. After about 10 minutes, when rubbed with the scrubber, the pan gets cleaned without applying much force.

The correct method of hot water and detergent can also be adopted to remove grease and burnt stains from the fry pan. Add some water and one spoon detergent in the pan and boil it on gas for 5 minutes, this will loosen the burnt layer automatically. After that, if you rub it lightly, the pan becomes completely clean.
Ash for iron pan, i.e. the ashes of the stove, is also an old indigenous remedy, put some ash on the burnt pan and rub it with lemon or wet cloth. The mild abrasive ability of the ash helps in removing the burnt layer and the pan gets cleaned without spoiling it. This method is still used extensively in villages.
