Bhagalpur Crime News: A new government has been formed in Bihar and claims are being made continuously by the government regarding law and order in the state. It is being said that the criminals will have to leave Bihar. But, what happened in Peerpainti of Bhagalpur late on Sunday night reminded of the era of Jungle Raj. Unidentified miscreants attacked a marriage procession, stopped the groom’s car, misbehaved with the women, looted jewellery, and many were injured.
Bhagalpur/Vikas Kumar Singh. The incident of attack on a wedding procession in Peerpainti police station area of Bhagalpur district of Bihar on Sunday night spread panic in the area. The wedding procession that started from Siwanpur village reached near Seemanpur turn of Ishipur police station area, when unknown miscreants stopped the groom’s car. The attackers not only assaulted but also misbehaved with the women participating in the wedding procession. The incident was so horrific that panic spread among the wedding processions and many people were injured. The local police took immediate action and sent forces from several police stations to the spot and started investigation.
Loot worth lakhs, many people injured
Amidst fear and distress, the victims told the entire story of the incident. According to the members involved in the wedding procession, when the wedding procession that started from Siwanpur reached near Seemanpur turn of Ishipur police station area, unknown miscreants surrounded the wedding procession including the groom’s car and attacked. The incident happened around 11 pm. After stopping the car, the miscreants beat up the driver and pulled the groom and his companions out of the car. The attackers attacked many wedding processions with sticks. During this time, women were misbehaved and gold and silver jewelery was pulled from their hands. Eyewitnesses say that the number of attackers was 10–15 and they were repeatedly threatening – take out everyone, otherwise they will kill you.
Gang of criminals active in the area
This incident of robbery lasted only 10-15 minutes, but its impact was serious. The groom’s father told that suddenly there was chaos in the happiness of marriage. The misbehavior with the women shook the entire family. The miscreants took away jewelery and cash worth about Rs 5 lakh. The groom’s car was also damaged. Two to three wedding guests were seriously injured in the attack, who have been admitted to the hospital. Local people say that incidents of robbery at night have happened on this route before, but this is the first time that a wedding procession has been attacked. There is a lot of anger among the villagers regarding this incident.
