Agra News: During the ongoing traffic month in Agra from November 1, more than 1.20 lakh challans were issued in 26 days. Police is making people aware in schools, colleges and intersections. Despite this, drivers without helmets and without seat belts were caught the most, on whom challans worth crores were issued.
Agra : Traffic Month is going on from 1st November in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Under this, the police has issued challans to more than 1 lakh vehicles in 26 days in November. This campaign is going on under the direction of Deputy Commissioner of Police Traffic Sonam Kumar. Under Traffic Month, the police is also making people aware about traffic at schools, colleges and intersections. Children are being made aware about traffic, so that in the coming time, they themselves will follow it and will also make their parents aware at home. Under this campaign, people are being made aware from city to village. Even after awareness, challans are being issued to those who are not following the rules. The highest number of people driving without helmet and without seat belt has been seen in Agra. Most of the challans have been issued to such people only. DCP Traffic Sonam Kumar said that so far challans have been issued to 1 lakh 20 thousand people in 26 days. Although the estimated value of these challans cannot be estimated yet, it is certain that challans worth crores would have been issued by now.
Challans issued to 1 lakh 20 thousand people within 26 days
Deputy Commissioner of Police Traffic Sonam Kumar said that Traffic Month had started from November 1. In these 26 days, challans have been issued for 1 lakh 20 thousand vehicles. Those who are found without helmet, without seat belt, jumping red light, triple riding or violating traffic in any way are being issued challans. People are being made aware to follow traffic rules and avoid challans.
People are being made aware at schools, colleges and intersections
DCP Traffic Sonam Kumar said that people are being made aware about traffic rules. He told that children are being given information about traffic in schools and colleges so that they follow the traffic rules. Apart from this, when the children know the traffic rules, they will also make their parents aware. Apart from this, people are also being made aware at intersections to use helmets, seat belts etc. DCP said that a strategy is also being prepared on how to save people from road accidents. People are being explained about traffic. Helmet distribution programs are also being organized from time to time.
More challans have been issued to motorcyclists without helmets.
DCP Traffic Sonam Kumar said that the highest number of people breaking traffic rules are those without helmets. Excessive challan is given to those without helmet and jumping red light. He told that vehicles have to stop at the stop line before the red light and many vehicles cross the challan line due to which AI cameras issue challans for them.
