The impact of the increasing number of tourists is also clearly visible on the hotel business of Ayodhya. About 75 percent of the hotels in the city are already booked. According to hotel operators, advance booking for the New Year has increased and the remaining hotels are also likely to be full in the coming days. Hotel Association Secretary Pankaj Gupta said that earlier people used to go to picnic spots on the occasion of New Year. Shimla, Manali or Goa were his first choices. But ever since the Ram temple has been built in Ayodhya, lakhs of tourists are flocking here even on the occasion of New Year. Till now 60 to 75 percent of the hotels are full for the new year.

On January 1, lakhs of devotees reach Ayodhya and start the new year by offering darshan and worship. The manager of Ram Shyam Hotel said that ever since the Ram temple was inaugurated and consecrated, there has been a flood of people. Bookings are being made in the hotel for the New Year. VHP’s media in-charge Sharad Sharma said that Ram devotees come to Ayodhya on the occasion of New Year. Where earlier they used to go to Goa, Shimla, Manali, now they come to religious places. On the occasion of New Year, people now prefer to go to religious places. This is the reason why 75 percent of the hotels in Ayodhya have already been booked.
