4–5 ripe tomatoes
8–10 fresh basil leaves
1 tsp ghee or butter
half teaspoon black pepper powder
½ tsp ginger paste
salt as per taste
1 glass water
a little sugar (optional)
Method of preparation
1. First of all, wash the tomatoes thoroughly and cut them into four parts.
2. Now add tomatoes, basil leaves and water in a vessel and boil on low flame for 10-12 minutes.
3. When the tomatoes become soft, turn off the gas and let the mixture cool.
4. After this, grind the boiled tomatoes in a mixer and filter them, so that the texture of the soup becomes smooth.
5. Now heat ghee or butter in a pan and add ginger to it. As soon as it becomes light golden, add the soup mixture.
6. Add salt, black pepper and if desired, a little sugar.
7. Boil on low flame for 3-4 minutes, so that all the flavors mix together.
8. Turn off the gas and add some fresh basil leaves on top and serve hot.
