Birra Roti Recipe: Even today, many traditional dishes retain their distinct identity in the Vindhya region of Madhya Pradesh. One of them is Birra Roti, which is considered very beneficial for taste as well as health. This roti is still liked in tribal areas. The specialty of Birra Roti is that it is not made only from wheat, but by mixing gram, peas and barley with wheat.
Health expert Dr. R.P. While giving information to Local 18, Paroha said that in olden times, people used to eat this bread and this used to maintain their strength and energy. To make it, about 2 kg of barley, peas and gram are mixed in 10 kg of wheat and ground. Doctor Paroha explains that this mixed flour is mixed with some celery, salt and some ghee or oil and the dough is kneaded in the usual way. After this, roasting it on tawa or stove and eating it with ghee is delicious.
In terms of nutrition, Birra Roti is more beneficial than ordinary wheat roti. While normal roti gives only carbohydrates, Birra roti provides protein, fiber and carbohydrates in abundance. According to the doctor, the gram present in it can give gas or stomach pain to some people, but the celery mixed in flour completely eliminates this problem and strengthens the digestive system. This roti is considered especially beneficial for diabetic patients. Because it helps in controlling blood sugar and increases immunity.
