Krishnaneel grass: Even though today the world is moving towards modernity, people are again returning to Vedic traditions and Ayurveda. Sometimes even ordinary looking weeds are full of medicinal properties. One such useful weed is Black Neel (Indigofera tinctoria). According to Dr. Aditya Pandey, Ayurvedacharya of Pilibhit, it is believed that applying it mixed with henna on the hair strengthens the hair, while applying its paste on the skin provides relief from ringworm and scabies. In Ayurveda it is also said to be useful in liver related problems. However, internal consumption should be done only on expert advice, as it can be toxic for some small animals.
