Zinnia, available at a price of Rs 25, grows rapidly in cold and gives bright flowering in 20-25 days.

Devendra Dhivar, a well-known gardening expert of the city, says that zinnia plant is one of the easiest options in the winter season, which anyone can include in their home garden with less maintenance. The special thing is that the combination of its colors is very attractive, which decorates even a small garden and gives it the look of professional gardening.
Dhivar says that the zinnia plant grows well in the cold season, especially from December to March. It grows very easily even in low temperatures and its flowering starts earlier than other seasonal plants. This plant is easily available in the local markets at an affordable price of around Rs 25, due to which even new gardeners and students can easily buy it and plant trees.
Gardening expert Devendra Dhivar said that an 8 to 12 inch pot is considered most suitable for planting zinnia. Having a good soil mixture in the pot is the first condition for the growth of the plant. For this, a nutritious mixture is prepared by mixing equal quantities of normal garden soil, vermicompost and paddy straw. This mixture not only makes the soil light, but also supplies adequate oxygen and nutrients to the plant roots.
After the soil is prepared, the zinnia plant should be planted in a pot and light irrigation should be done in the initial days. According to Dhivar, adding mustard cake and neem cake to the plant after 15 to 20 days is very beneficial. This natural organic fertilizer accelerates plant growth and develops strong branches. Zinnia loves good sunlight. Therefore, keep the pot in a place where it gets sunlight for at least 5-6 hours every day. It is important to water daily, but do not keep the pot filled with water – light moisture is considered sufficient for zinnia.
Expert Dhivar says that if the plant gets the right place and proper nutrition, beautiful, big and shiny flowers start appearing in just 20 to 25 days. Colors like yellow, pink, red, white and orange make zinnia the center of attention of any home garden. Among the growing gardening in Raipur, Zinnia is such a plant which a person of every age can easily plant. Low cost, less effort and excellent flowering, these three reasons are making it the most preferred choice in this cold season.
