BPSC AEDO 2025: So many applications have come for one job in Bihar that all the old records have been destroyed. 9.80 lakh applications were received for these jobs. Due to which all the records of BPSC were broken. This is considered to be the largest number of applications received so far for any job in BPSC. Now the question is how will the examination of so many candidates be conducted?
BPSC AEDO 2025: Bihar Public Service Commission has announced the recruitment of Assistant Education Development Officer (AEDO). For this, BPSC has received a record breaking 9 lakh 80 thousand applications. This figure is so big that even the biggest TRE and CCE till now pale in comparison to it. It means clearly that this has become the biggest recruitment of BPSC till date. Now the question is how will the examination of so many children be conducted? When will it happen? In how many phases will it be? Is there negative marking or not? Let us tell you everything…
9.80 lakh applications: all records of BPSC broken
When BPSC had released the notification for 935 posts of AEDO, no one had any idea that around 10 lakh applications would come, but a total of 9 lakh 80 thousand forms were filled for it. This number is so large that conducting the examination has become a mega challenge in itself for the Commission. Earlier, 5-6 lakh applications were received in TRE-1 and TRE-2 but AEDO left everyone behind.
Exam in January 2026
In a media report, quoting the controller of examination of BPSC, it has been said that it is not possible to make so many candidates sit at once, hence a high level meeting of the Commission will be held in the first week of December 2025 in which it will be decided whether the examination will be held in two phases or three phases. The current plan is to conduct the examination in January 2026. Centers will be built all over Bihar.
Women and disabled people will get relief
Rajesh Kumar said that the Commission will try to ensure that all the women candidates and disabled candidates get a center either in Patna or get an opportunity to take the examination in their home district so that they do not have to go far and can take the examination safely.
There will be negative marking in Hindi and English also
Many children were confused whether there is negative marking in Hindi and English in AEDO or not. Now BPSC has made it clear that there will be negative marking in Hindi and English also. If we talk about the pattern of the paper, the Hindi paper will be of 70 marks in which it is necessary to score at least 21 marks. Similarly, the English paper will be of 30 marks in which it is necessary to score at least 9 marks. The total language paper will be of 100 marks. The rest of the main subject papers will be objective type. There will be negative marking here too. It is being told that Considering the number of applicants, negative marking has been kept so that only serious and good candidates can move forward. Final selection will be done only on the marks of written examination. Meaning, whoever scores better will get the number.
How many out of 9 lakh will be selected?
Out of 9.80 lakh candidates, only 463 children are to be selected. The competition is quite tough. The exam is in January 2026, which means you still have about 1 month’s time. There is negative marking so take less risk. Answer accurately. You must bring qualifying marks in Hindi and English, otherwise everything will be in vain. If you have filled the form, then work hard day and night from now on. You will not get this opportunity again.
