Sharing the recipe, Raveena Kachhap, a tribal woman from Hazaribagh, says that this dish has been made in her house for generations. Dhaknesar is definitely made when new grains arrive, on puja-festival days or when guests arrive. It is also easy to make and tastes very tasty. It is made from new rice during the winter season.
He further told that to make it, first the rice is puffed. Then it is finely ground and a solution is made. It is important to keep in mind that the batter should neither be too thin nor too thick.

Special earthen pots are used to make it. In the changing times, people have started making it in pots or pans as well, but this dish made in clay has the most aroma.
The prepared batter is poured into an earthen pot in the shape of puva. After which it is covered with another earthen pot. After about 2 minutes it gets cooked well.
While cooking it, the earthen pan is heated properly and ghee is also applied in it. While ripening, the color of Dhaknesar gradually turns light golden and its fragrance spreads throughout the room.
After Dhaknesar is cooked, milk is prepared for it. The milk is slightly thickened by adding sugar and cardamom. Then this Dhaknesar is put in it to swell. It is ready after about one to one and a half hours. Everyone from children to old people enjoy its taste with great enthusiasm.
